These may seem simple and easy, but I guarantee you aren’t doing them already! Lets dive deeper…
Chewing your food:
In order to break down foods enough for optimal digestion, you must be chewing your food 20-30x PER BITE. How often do you grab something and eat quickly while you run late to work? Or eat quickly between speaking at meetings? Even if *think* you are chewing enough, humor me and count the next time you take a bite of anything.
Eat without distractions:
Proper digestive function requires the body to be in a parasympathetic state. This is also known as “rest and digest.” To get into this state, your body must be at rest. That means, no eating while driving, eating while on a phone call, eating while scrolling social media….you get the idea! Pro tip: take 3 deep breaths with your eyes closed before meals to help the body get into the parasympathetic state!
Pinpoint Food Sensitivities:
Pinpointing food sensitivities can help us understand why our gut lining is becoming irritated. When it is irritated it can cause bloating, gas, and other digestive dysfunction.
